
Caroline joined The Foundation’s Chesapeake Initiative in August 2020, transitioned to work with the Pacific office in March 2021, and returned to the Chesapeake office in January 2023. She works closely with the Agriculture Program Strategist to advance the Foundation’s conservation objectives within the Agriculture portfolio. This role supports all aspects of grant review and due diligence, as well as building and maintaining external relationships.
Caroline is a current Class XIII participant in LEAD Maryland, a fellowship program dedicated to developing leaders who serve agriculture, natural resources, and rural communities. Her professional background has a focus on environmental science and ecology, and includes work with Anne Arundel County Public School’s Environmental Literacy program and the Chesapeake Bay Foundation’s oyster restoration initiative, in addition to avian and marine fieldwork. Caroline is also a graduate of the Chesapeake Bay Trust’s Chesapeake Conservation Corps program.
Born and raised in Annapolis, Maryland, Caroline grew up exploring the Chesapeake Bay’s tributaries and developed a keen interest in researching and protecting our natural resources. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Wellesley College and a minor in Music focused on piano performance. In her free time Caroline enjoys birding, traveling, and spending time with family.
