About the Agriculture Program
Agriculture is fundamental to the stability and growth of the economy in the Chesapeake Bay region. That’s why The Campbell Foundation is interested in reducing its impact on water quality using a collaborative approach to conservation, all with an eye on maintaining farm viability today and in the future.
Through innovation, advocacy, and industry engagement, Foundation grantees are driving on-the-ground change throughout the watershed. They are addressing the application of manure and synthetic fertilizers, nitrogen and phosphorous use, and nutrient and sediment loads coming into the Chesapeake Bay.
By confronting barriers to working together, the Foundation encourages a cooperative mindset between industrial agriculture, small farmers, community organizations, and government entities. Grantees are pioneering new solutions that can benefit all parties and the Bay.
