Anna joined the Foundation in 2009, initially as Assistant to the President. Over time, her position evolved to Chief of Staff. She manages many aspects of the day-to-day activities of the Foundation, including administration and operations, information technology, Pacific office grants, and the Capacity Building and Unsolicited grants programs.
She acts as an integrator to connect work streams that may otherwise remain siloed, a communicator linking leadership and the broader organization, and a strategic thought partner.
Prior to joining the Foundation, she worked for a variety of for and non-profit agencies in a number of capacities, ranging from database and website management to finance and fundraising.
Anna was born in Stockholm, Sweden, is a proud immigrant and Swedish citizen, and speaks Swedish fluently. She was raised in Washington, graduating from Central Washington University with a BA in History, with a special focus on Geography and Anthropology. After studying in New Orleans and a semester abroad in Hungary, she pursued a Masters in International Policy Studies at the Monterey Institute of International Studies, delving into topics as diverse as Ocean Policy, Economics of Organized Crime, and US-Latin American relations.
Most weekends you will find her heading to the airport for a visit with her two nieces or venturing on a long road trip. She recently completed the goal of visiting all fifty states. She lives in Fairfax, California with her husband.
